Saxophone colossus Paul Dunmall returns to the Bristol Music Club with his critically acclaimed Quartet featuring the superb pianist Liam Noble, the remarkable John Edwards on bass and the incomparable Mark Sanders on drums. This is going to be a very special gig.
PAUL DUNMALL - recognised as one of the most talented reed players on the International jazz/improvised music scene. Whether playing in small groups or big bands, his musical sensitivity and imagination combined with a powerful sound drenched in both Jazz and Folk traditions make him one of the most distinctive improvisers playing today.

LIAM NOBLE is a London-based jazz pianist, composer, educator, and recording artist. Noble has recorded and released several albums through Basho Records, including the acclaimed 'Close your Eyes' (1994), 'In the Meantime' (2001), 'Romance Among the Fishes' (2004), and 'The Madness of Crows' (2011), as well as collaborating with various notable musicians such as Stan Sulzmann, Julian Siegal, Paul Dunmall, Christine Tobin, Marc Ducret, and Okkyung Lee. As well as being a successful recording artist, Noble holds acclaimed teaching posts at both Birmingham Conservatoire and Trinity College of Music.
JOHN EDWARDS is a true virtuoso whose staggering range of techniques and boundless musical imagination have redefined the possibility of the double bass and dramatically expanded its role, whether playing solo or with others. Perpetually in demand, he has played with Evan Parker, Sunny Murray, Derek Bailey, Paul Dunmall, Joe McPhee, Lol Coxhill, Peter Brötzmann, Mulatu Astatke and many others.

MARK SANDERS - Mark has played with many renowned musicians from around the world including Evan Parker, Peter Brotzmann, Derek Bailey, Robert Mitchell, Roswell Rudd, Keith Tippett, Paul Dunmall, Trevor Watts, Tim Berne, Liam Noble, Gail Brand, Martin Speake, Paul Rogers, Henry Grimes,Okkyung Lee, Barry Guy, Myra Melford, Otomo Yoshihide, Luc Ex, Ken Vandermark, Sidsel Endresen and Jean Francois Pauvrois, in duo and quartets with Wadada Leo Smith and trios with Charles Gayle with Sirone and William Parker.
